2005: Global AIDS Activist Leadership Summit
In May of 2005, The Global AIDS Alliance in partnership with the John M. Lloyd Foundation convened the fourth annual John M. Lloyd AIDS Project at Stony Point Center.
Global AIDS Alliance (GAA) convened a meeting of leading grassroots activists from selected US locations for a Global AIDS Action Summit. Participants included religious activists, university students, feminists, and others who have shown a strong commitment to building the political will needed for better US policies on global AIDS. The meeting was a follow up to GAA's successful Global AIDS Action Conference which the Lloyd Foundation supported in September 2003, and it included a mix of issue briefings and participatory planning sessions.
